From The President

Greetings to All,

We are very close to starting up again, and I am looking forward to seeing each and every one of you. Our board meeting will be Tuesday, September 2 at 1600. We will have a special guest that evening. Brenda Wray, PTA of Mayport Middle School, will be there to speak to us about Mayport Middle becoming a partial magnet school. They are asking for letters of support from businesses and/or organizations in the area. I believe that this is something that we can do. She will speak to us for approximately 10 minutes.

Our next No Dough dinner at the USO is scheduled for Monday, September 8 from 1700-1900. If you will be coming out to help, please let me know. I will need to let the USO know so that they will be able to get any additional help necessary.

The next IA luncheon is scheduled for September 10 at 1100 over at NAS JAX at the Officers’ Club. Hopefully, those of you on the email list have already received information on that. We really would like a good showing at this, and I only have 10 tickets, so please let me know as soon as possible.

Then, on 18 September we meet for our first dinner of the fall. It should be a great evening. Mike McGrath, our National President, has declared September Sea Cadet month, and our own Sea Cadets will be there to present a program of about 10 minutes. We also have as our guest speaker, RADM Terry McKnight. His bio is included in this Fleet Sheet, so please read all about him.

September is an incredibly busy month, so start writing dates down, and let’s have a good showing for each event. See you in September.

Diane
